Lotsa stuff to update!!!
Summary:
1) Caught a few musical and theatre stuff.
Caught Ti Tou Dao, not bad.
Caught Broadway Beng Retuns and definitely enjoyed it as much as the first one.
Caught Phantom of the Opera, love the songs but somehow regretted not watching the first run with Sarah Brightman in it.
Wanted to catch Dim Sum Dollies, went to buy tickets and found out that it was already the last day, therefore missed it again.
2) Caught some concerts too!
Went to Ukelele's and totally fell in love with Lim Zhi Xuan's voice. He sings so much better than CD! Didnt like the venue though, never will I catch a concert at Expo ever cos the sitting arrangement sucks and the sound system wasnt as good too.
Caught the best concert ever and that was Jacky Cheung's!!! He sang so many classics and it was 3 half hours long! I cant imagine a better performance from him! He really is god-like.
3) Caught a few movies.
Fantastic four wasn't as fantastic but the Silver Surfer was kinda cool though.
Harry Potter & The Order of Pheonix was not as good as I expected cos I've read the book and therefore expected to see more. But overall, the movie was well filmed.
Transformer was such a big hit and I can't believe that I missed it. gotta wait for dvd.
4) Met up with POH! Yeah, she was back for a month but we only got to meet up twice. But it was nice to catch up and it also reminded me of the fun I have over at her place. Wanna save up and make another trip over again...
5) Met up with smarkys on a few occasions. Enjoyed those gossip sessions and catching up with each other makes me realise how much we have changed since school times. We used to be more carefree, hanging out at kovan after tuition classes, celebrating out birthdays at macdonalds, going sentosa so very often, all our chalets and sentosa huts stays. Nowadays, we have to worry about our family, finance, work, relationships. Well, that's life I guess. Its nice to be able to open up to friends about all these and also hearing it from them. Its comforting to know that they are willing to listen and give each other the encouragement we all need.
6) Qualified for the semis for Be A Star Singing Competition held by partyworld. Its my first time getting into the semis and I was sooooooo happy! And the thing is, matt's family came down to support me and i meant the whole family except his dad and one of his bro-in-law. There were 9 of them! Of cos, doug and sis came too! Doug's bro came too, with a fren of his. Ed and Jacq too! I had so many supporters! When i was called on stage, they were shouting for me! haha.. so paisey and happy at the same time. When I went up on stage, i realised my supporters took up 3 rows of the audience! haha... I did well and I thought this was my best performance ever. Probably because there were so many supporters and they boosted my confidence to the highest level. Come to think of it, the judge might have feared being beaten up by my supporters and therefore had to let me through... hahaha
This summary somehow remind me of how much i have been spending... going bankrupt soonz... :(

oi!
woke up with a stiff neck...cant sllep liaoz...haha...stumble upon your bloKy.
vely good! your life is so colorful...this is how you shud live life.
i will give my 2cents how (i think) you may qualify for the finals, so to materialize everyone's eagerness to finance IR at Sentosa.
Song choice:
I do feel Beautiful Love is one of the best song you can choose. It suits your vocal, and character. U are no dress gal, so this "zhong-xin" mid-tempo song is perfect for you.
dont have to think anymore about song choice.
but get very familiar with the song. keep practising! dont worry about getting bored with the song. you need to be "boiling melon rotten cooked"! Then u can focus on transponding the emotions of the song on stage. (not like me! always forgetting lyrics hahaha)
Song arrangement:
The title of the song is Beautiful Love. Look into the lyrics where you can punctuate the lyrics. (quote from Huang Shujun haha). but i feel it's true. if you sing a song, and audience cant even remember the title of song, then something is not so right. punctuating at the right places show the audience u put in effort to understand the feel of the song. But of cos overdoing is not good. The last sentence "love's beautiful...so beautifulllllll" i feel you can drag the "love" with big emotion.
Vocal delivery:
it is a big song. so with the jitters on actual day, your power will reduce 20%. so REMEMBER to pace yourself. dont give all until the very end (the VERY LAST WORD...not even the 2nd verse/chorus you should give all energy.. remember completing the song perfectly is very important, not to give the judges a feeling you do not have enough gassss at the end...which is often problem with many contestants. they start so well then end half-energy.
i think it will be key for selection of finalists.
Stage presence:
i think you are doing well enough already. dont have to overdo.
just be natural. perhaps just decide where you will stand at each part of the song..like your quarters is good enough.
And remember to smile more! it's a happy song!
Dressing:
this is tough...but i feel something white/bright will be suitable for the song.
and boot of your sis..if you want to wear them for comp, remember to practic wearing them. but comfort is impt. wear something which makes you confident, and not to give you a burden!
like my 883, i really like my clothes and it really gives me a "just-nice" feel. the clothing actually boost my confidence.
dont care what others wear, many times people just overdo.
when judges comment contestant under dressed, most likely the person din sing well also, or judges din like the performance. it is just an excuse to say someone is not so good.
if a geek like clay aiken can win Idols..who cares about being a peacook!
having said that...u do need to consider about your waredrobe hehe... :''')
Judges:
we should go on 1st semi to check out who are judges (wei-song??? haha), and whether they have any major dislikes/likes criteria.
Anyway, judges are also audience, so seeing them with ping chang xin is important, like hark performance. just need to give each a smile in your song. (can plan too in your song arrangement!)
rest of song look up in general audience is better i feel. looking at judges too much is awkward.
Confidence:
Actually i feel the good preparations for all the above points will make you confident on the day.. and remember to sleep well night before.. anyway is not the finals! so why worry??!! haha
MOST important thing:
Enjoy yourself! live the moment!
not to pressure or "fu yan" you, but I really think you have chance this year to make it to finals! you have improved alot! it may not be good enough for the judges, but just preapre well and perform your best..who to choose is up to them. dont make it your problem haha!!
andana...i need u...ouch.
:)
wah sei!!! the longest comment i have ever seen...
thanks man...
im still trying to digest wat u wrote, too much to digest in a while.. haha...
i will do my best and fight all the way to genting!! :P
